My Mom and Jesus

Today I wish to share two sentiments, my mom and Jesus. Since my last post, the struggle to become and to grow has been real and fought in the trenches of my life on a daily basis. Today is mothers day, second only to Easter, I believe it is the most sacred day of the year. Today, we honor the women in our lives who have been there since the very beginning.  As Elder Holland so eloquently said, "Life does not come with a manual, it comes with a mother."  Thank you so much for being my rock the past 23 years and showing me how to live a imperfect yet worthwhile life. Watching you respond to the challenges placed in your path has shown me how I can respond to my own.

On another note, there is Jesus, who has been sitting in the trenches with me, handing me juice boxes and tacos when I just don't want to keep fighting. I was talking to a good friend of mine last night and he said something that really put into perspective one of the roles Jesus plays in my life.

"Yes life is hard and I could choose to let my trials overcome me. I could choose to focus on the negative,  to see what's hard and the blessings I haven't been given. But what's the point in that? I already know that path, it leads to despair and self loathing. Instead, I choose the path of faith. I choose to trust God and His promises. Moses could have chosen to listen to his fears and could have hesitated, but he did not. He chose to have faith in God's power and His timing."

We are all on our own roads, and working on our relationship with God. You are not alone. God is a God of miracles and miracles have not ceased.
Love,
Lauren

 Love you Mom.
